A PASSION FOR LINEN

Jane Sacchi specializes in Antique French Linen and Hemp. She has been sourcing this in France for many years and has a constantly changing selection of stock, which is available by telephone and over the internet, and by appointment from her small showroom in Chelsea.

Working with a Scottish Linen Weaver Jane can also provide bespoke tablecloths and napkins in a variety of single and double damasks, in both contemporary and traditional designs, to fit any size table including round ones.

She exhibits at The Decorative Antiques and Textiles Fair in Battersea Park, three times a year.


19th and early 20th c French hemp and linen sheets

These are used for upholstery and are particularly good for loose covers. They come in a range of beige, stone, biscuit and off white, and are also available dyed in Indigo, in a variety of blues.
They measure approx. 180cms by 250cms and cost from £180 in natural and from £240 in Indigo.

19th and early 20thc French damask napkins

These have hand-embroidered monograms, are wonderful quality and a pleasure to use. They make a good wedding present if the correct initials are available. Priced from £100 for a set of six.

Early 20thc French linen sheets

Embroidered with monograms, the maximum sheet width is 240cms, large enough for a Queen size bed. Prices start at £160 per sheet. Square pillow cases are also monogrammed and available from £55 each.


18thc French hand blocked textiles

Jane has recently started to collect 18thc Toile de Jouy and Toile de Nantes, and other hand-blocked prints. She has a particular affection for the birds and butterflies that are depicted on many of them.
